About the event

This course satisfies BSIS requirements for an Exposed Firearms Permit (EFP) RE-QUALIFICATION COURSE. Guards holding an EFP are required to conduct 4 re-qualifications, within their required timeframes, during their two-year renewal period. They must also pass a written exam during at least one of their re-qualification events.


Paladin Shield is an approved Firearms Training Facility (TFF 1710) and instruction is provided by Daniel Butler, a BSIS-certified Firearms Instructor (TIF 2861).


The Re-qualification Course includes a 2-hour review course, including material from the Firearms Manual on the 1) Laws and standards regarding use of deadly force and 2) Avoidance of deadly force (including de-escalation). At the conclusion of the presentations, students will have an opportunity to take the Exposed Firearms Permit written exam; a minimum score of 45/52 is required to pass.
